Cool Things to Do Near The Spire in Downtown Denver – My Personal Guide!

Living at The Spire has been such an awesome experience. These high rise condo units are absolutely stunning with floor to ceiling glass. The views are out of this world! If you're ever looking for things to do around Downtown Denver, I've got you covered! Here are a few of my favorite spots - each one just a short walk or quick drive from The Spire.

1. Sculpture Park (0.2 miles – 5-minute walk)

First up, Sculpture Park is literally a 5-minute walk from The Spire. It’s this super cool park filled with huge sculptures that make for some pretty awesome photo ops. “The Dancers” sculpture is my personal favorite—it’s just massive! It's also a fun place to hang out and check out public art. They host events here sometimes too, so there’s always something new going on.

2. Civic Center Park (0.4 miles – 8-minute walk)

If I ever want to just relax or have a chill day outside, I head to Civic Center Park. It’s an easy 8-minute walk from my place, and it's a beautiful park with fountains, statues, and a cool Greek amphitheater. They have seasonal food trucks and festivals too, so it’s a great spot to grab lunch, people-watch, or enjoy a low-key afternoon.

3. Union Station (0.8 miles – 15-minute walk)

Okay, Union Station is kind of iconic. It's about a 15-minute walk from The Spire, and it’s one of my favorite places to hang out. It’s more than just a transit station—it’s got great dining spots, shops, and a really relaxed vibe. I love grabbing a coffee there, sitting in the main hall, and just soaking in the atmosphere. It’s honestly such a great place to chill or meet up with friends.

4. Denver Art Museum (0.5 miles – 10-minute walk)

If you’re into art, you have to check out the Denver Art Museum—and luckily, it’s just a 10-minute walk from The Spire. It’s huge, with over 70,000+ works of art I was told, from Native American collections to modern pieces. Honestly, I could spend hours here. Whether you're a big art lover or just looking for something different to do, this museum is always a good time.

5. Coors Field (0.7 miles – 13-minute walk)

For something a little more exciting, I head to Coors Field to catch a Colorado Rockies game. It's only a 13-minute walk from my place, and the stadium has amazing views of downtown and the Rockies. Even if you’re not into baseball, it’s just a fun place to be. Plus, you can always take a tour of the stadium and get an inside look at this iconic ballpark. My go to snack probably would have to be popcorn or the funnel cakes + you have to get an ice cold beer.

6. Meow Wolf’s Convergence Station (1 mile – 20-minute walk or short drive)

Meow Wolf is a total trip. It's about a 20-minute walk or a quick drive from The Spire, and it’s an interactive, immersive art experience that’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen. There are all these bizarre, mind-bending exhibits that you can walk through and explore. It’s honestly a fun, surreal way to spend an afternoon, and you’ll probably get some pretty cool photos out of it too.

7. Larimer Square (0.4 miles – 8-minute walk)

For a night out, Larimer Square is the spot. It’s an 8-minute walk from The Spire, and it’s full of boutique shops, amazing restaurants, and some great bars. The string lights overhead give it this cozy, charming vibe, especially in the evening. I love just walking around, grabbing dinner at one of the restaurants, and soaking in the atmosphere. It’s one of the most iconic spots in Denver. My top restaurant recommendations on Larimer Square would have to be Rioja for their artichoke tortellini and Ocean Prime for their smoked old fashioned cocktail.

8. Downtown Aquarium (1 mile – short drive)

If you’re looking for something fun to do with family or just want to check out some cool marine life, the Downtown Aquarium is perfect. It’s about a mile away from The Spire, so it’s an easy drive or quick ride over. My favorite sea life to watch would have to be the sharks and stingrays. It's definitely a unique place to visit.

9. Denver Botanic Gardens (2 miles – short drive)

When I need a little peace and quiet, I head to the Denver Botanic Gardens. It’s about a 2-mile drive from The Spire, but it’s so worth it. The gardens are beautiful, especially during the warmer months. They’ve got themed gardens, ponds, and even outdoor concerts during the summer.

10. Paramount Theatre (0.5 miles – 10-minute walk)

If you’re in the mood for a show, I recommend checking out the Paramount Theatre—it’s only a 10-minute walk from The Spire. This historic theater is beautiful, with its art-deco style, and they host a variety of events, from concerts to comedy shows and even film festivals. It’s the perfect spot for a night out if you want something a little more cultural and laid-back.

So, whether I’m in the mood for a relaxing park day, an art museum adventure, or a night out with friends, there's always something fun and easy to do near The Spire. I love how everything is so close by—it makes living here feel so convenient and full of life.
